I am sooo excited!!

I am so excited! Clinton Anderson is coming to Kalispell and putting on a 3 day clinic. Guess who gets to go as a participant? You got it right, I get to go, take Rio and hopefully learn lots of wonderful things. If you are intested, check out the types of things I'll be learning here... http://www.downunderhorsemanship.com/events.cfm

First trip into the mountains

This weekend Odin and I drove through Augusta up to Gibson dam, which feeds the fields on the Fairfield bench, which is not too far from where I live.
While we were up there we got to see these animals...

Aren't they cool?

1st ride of Spring

Here is Odin riding Rio, proving himself to be a better horseman than he lets on.Now, Odin is demonstrating his "Clinton Anderson" hold on the reins. (He thinks this is how Clinton holds his reins, we'll let Odin believe that if he wants to. :o))
I got a turn to ride too!

Even Calli was enjoying this spring day. (She was mainly acting tough, chasing dogs off the property, which includes my property and the neighbors to the west!)

Then at about 5:30pm we loaded up Calli, Rio, donkey and Odin's bike and we went for a 3 mile ride. It was a lot of fun, but involved an awful lot of donkey herding. I had heard that donkeys bond with their horse companions and so when you go riding you can turn the donkey loose and they will just follow along. My donkey DID NOT follow, in fact he took off into one of the fields, I swear, singing "Born Free." After trying this two times, both with the same result, Donkey was destined to be drug along by a lead rope. Here he is looking "thrilled."

New Cowboys

These are the latest creations (I helped with the roping one!). They are a little more "finished" then the others.

Wolf Point Wedding

It has been quite a while since I updated my blog, so let see what I can do to catch everyone up!!
Our friends Ryan and Laura got married recently and Odin was a groomsman/large chicken (for the chicken dance)! Doesn't he make a cute chicken?

Valentine's Day

Odin asked me if I had any ideas for Valentine's Day. So, I told him I just wanted it to be a surprise and for whatever we did to be romantic......

So, he and Jimmy put their heads together (which is alway dangerous) and came up with a plan. We met at Target then drove through many different "resturant" parking lots to confuse Courtney and I. We finally ended up eating at Big Mouth Bar-B-Q! It was good food. The second surprise they had for us was to take us roller skating. Goodness, I haven't roller skated since I was very little.

This is a picture of Odin and I "gracefully", I mean carefully making our way around the floor.
This is Jimmy and Courtney. They are doing pretty well! The little girl to the right, behind me was a 3rd grader, who tried to encourage me by telling me "At least your trying!" Boy, did that make me feel old.
This is one of the "tricks" Odin was showing off with!! He makes it look sooooo easy doesn't he?

Anyways, fun was had by all and my appreciation grew for Odin, who comes up with the most unique ways to surprise me!! Thanks for a wonderful Valentine's Day, TDH :o)
